Connection Clogs are a leap into the future of footwear, breaking free from traditional shoemaking norms. Designed to challenge the mundanity of conventional shoes, these innovative clogs embrace 3D printing to unlock limitless customization and comfort. Each iteration explores a unique approach to connecting the sole to the upper, transforming the design process into an experiment in form and function. By blending technology with a focus on individuality, Connection Clogs redefine what it means to wear a shoe—merging style, structure, and creativity into every step.
Connection clogs are a current work in progress. They are built to test various methods of connecting the sole of the shoe to the upper. They are made to be comfortable and customizable as they can be quickly adjusted to suit any occasion. Made from a 100% recycled TPU they are durable yet soft.
The first system of connection is lacing. I tried various ways of lacing and found this example to be the best as it stays closed. It does need some development to ensure it can be done more fluidly. Along with that their potential to use other material laces.
