Embarking on a transformative journey into the realm of garments that embrace the rain. Sefefo Se Tla Feta,"The storm has come" is inspired by the traditions of the Southern African people of LeSotho. The Basotho people engage in a traditional dance know as Mohobelo. Mohobelo is a dance movement performed at the end of the dry season to usher in the rejuvenating summer rains that replenish the land.

As a Bashotho we have a number of clans, I hail from the Le kwa-kwa and the linage of bakwena. Bakwena translates to crocodile, this symbol appears in the reconstructed shweshwe print pattern found on the pockets of the cross over jacket. The movement is characterized by stomping in a vigorous yet rhythmic manor. Featuring the Mohobelo maxi skirt and the cross over waxed jacket each with their own technical capability.

Mohobelo maxi skirt: canvas, cotton, beeswax, linseed oil, 3d print, metal.

Controlled by a pully system that when activated by the user allows them to step on small rope that runs underneath their foot making the skirt go up and down mimicking the movement of the dance along with the rainfall.

Cross over wax jacket: Canvas, beeswax, linseed oil, 3d print

Waterproofed with a mixture of beeswax and drying oils this jacket allows the wearer to feel shielded from the heavy summer rains.
